Short biography
Janosch Ondraczek studied environmental and resource economics (Master of Science, University College London, 2004) and European business (Diplom-Betriebswirt, University of Applied Sciences, Münster, and Bachelor of Arts, University of Portsmouth, 2003).
Since 2005, Janosch is working as a consultant on renewable energy issues at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Hamburg. He joined FNU in 2009 and is pursuing his Ph.D. on a part-time basis.
His Ph.D. research at the Research Unit Sustainability and Global Change focuses on the solar energy markets of east Africa. He is investigating various economic and social aspects of expanding the use of solar energy in Kenya and Tanzania.

- Regulation and promotion of renewable energy markets
- Climate change impacts and mitigation
- Energy and sustainable development
