Janosch Ondraczek

Ph.D. student in the Department of Economics and guest researcher at the Research Unit Sustainability and Global Change, University of Hamburg.
Short biography
Janosch Ondraczek studied environmental and resource economics (Master of Science, University College London, 2004) and European business (Diplom-Betriebswirt, University of Applied Sciences, Münster, and Bachelor of Arts, University of Portsmouth, 2003).
Since 2005, Janosch works as a consultant on renewable energy projects (project finance, transactions and strategy advice) at
PricewaterhouseCoopers in Hamburg, where he is a manager.
Janosch joined FNU in late 2009 and is currently pursuing his Ph.D. on a part-time basis. His Ph.D. research at the Research Unit Sustainability and Global Change focuses on the solar energy markets of east Africa. He is investigating various economic and social aspects of expanding the use of solar energy in Kenya and Tanzania.
Since 2011, Janosch is also a guest research scholar at IIASA's research group on
Risk, Policy and Vulnerability in Laxenburg, Austria.
